Another endorsement for the TUMD paddle after 30+ activations with it. Super solid and a lovely light action. Suits me much better than the Palm mini. You’re not going to notice the 20g increase in weight.
Hi John,
Where did you buy it – AliExpress or Amazon?
It seems that the latest deliveries from Amazon are a different model with quite a few issues.
Thanks,

That’s a brilliant idea!
Please share the print files…
Thanks!

There’s some absolute beauts here ![]()
My favourite:
I’ve put the TUMD Cover / Grip on Printables. Hope it works for you.

Hi Rafa,
I got mine from Aliexpress. There are several sellers on there.

Hi John,
I’ve already bought mine – thanks for the suggestion!
Rafa
The one I bought comes with that box as well; I thought it looked useful for SOTA.

Oh you’re such a joker. Love this! ![]()
I’ve been using these:

Cheap, light and expendable.
Of course, the quality is nowhere near the TUMD (I’ve held it in my hand - the contacts are fantastic but the paddle itself is on the heavy side), or any name-brand like PalmRadio.
If you want to break out the best, then get a Bentley sorry I mean Begali Traveler. Dropping that key on a summit is going to be the most expensive game of hide and seek you’ll ever play. Personally I enjoy carrying £300+ of precision engineering up a mountain so I can send my callsign wrong at altitude.
It is an absolute work of art. Even the box. I’m a poor excuse for an owner!
Oh, and it was a 50th birthday present to myself. I’d probably not have got anything otherwise!

I have a old Begali Traveller, must be more than 20 years old. It really is a super key, but never been tempted to take it to a summit! Good for you, these things are meant to be used!
I gave it a run out last night, in preparation for my FW3GT trip later this month. Very smooth and precise, just like the Begali Sculpture I use at home.
Enjoy it!

Unfortunately, the Begali Traveler hadn’t been invented yet when I turned 50.
But who knows, if the doctors take good care of me, there might be a chance for my 2x50th ![]()
Of course, Begali would have to still be around then, too …
Until then, I’ll simply enjoy the Sculpture (another heavy masterpiece) in my shack.
I see three colour options for the TUMD: silvery, silvery red, and silvery white. With the latter two, a model drawing of a (respectively red or white) box comes into view. What is that box? I don’t know what to think of it. And why does the ‘silvery’ option NOT show that box. Confused here…
I would like to order the red one that you have, but I don’t know if this is the correct seller and the correct option? Maybe I’m a little paranoid but with all the risks of being ripped off…
Hi Frank,
I ordered mine from the Tumd Store, but there are a number of other sellers. This from my order history back in June…
I presume you’re referring to this picture of a box frame in the current ad. I’m guessing that’s just to give an idea of the colour. I didn’t receive anything resembling it. I can’t discern any difference between silvery and silvery white from the pictures… apart from the price?
TUMD keys are not the most waterproof and require constant adjustment here to keep it running right.
For the price they are OK. More options in the world of CW keys would be nice.
CWOps course is worth considering. Although you’ll need to be able to commit 60 mins every day to learning and practicing the code. A wide range of different tools helps you learn.

Thanks for the info, John. I’ve just ordered one. Also, I’ve ordered two of the cheapo nameless paddles that Jakub mentioned above, so I have options…
