ahh thats quite handy, but still need to update the “references” as obviously the sota reference isnt the same as a POTA one!
Thanks!
Yes, the conceopt with ADI is that you can have a file with lots of data fields in it, all with their ID and length before them and the receiving system picks out the fields it needs. If however, POTA uses the same ID for the reference field as POTA does, then you have the issue. How many contacts are in the file?
Perhaps create the ADI file from VK-PORTA-LOG and then open it with a simple text editor and see what you have and then change the reference field if needed.

Use the software Adifmaster to add the column for POTA. I guess that’s the best method. Pretty sure there is already a thread here on the Reflector about it.

i did have a lok on the search button but it didnt turn anything up! Ill have a look for that software, thanks!

Perhaps even use the WWFF field for the POTA Reference? (but then you would still need to edit the ADI text file to be what is expected by POTA).
Here’s that document: ADIF for POTA Technical Reference - Parks on the Air Documentation
It looks like this is an example of what you will need in the records according to the current POTA documentation:
<MY_SIG:4>POTA <MY_SIG_INFO:7>US-3315

Brilliant, thanks everyone! Ive sorted it… POTA’s system is a little finnicky over the information it requires, but i have sussed it out now! i used @ON6ZQ s excellent SOTA2ADIF to convert the .csv to a .ADIF and then saved that as a .ADIF in notepad, opened it in ADIFmaster, changed the coloumns as required by POTA and added the additional coloumns needed for the POTA system… and jobs a goodun! the POTA system has accepted it, so were onto a winner!!
Thanks everyone!
Alan
There’s lots of excellent software on Christophe’s site, well worth a visit.
The latest ADIF spec (3.1.4) has added POTA_REF and MY_POTA_REF (like the equivalent SOTA fields), but I guess it might take a little while for software to support them:
https://adif.org/314/ADIF_314_annotated.htm#QSO_Field_POTA_REF
SOTA2ADIF lets you now enter MY_WWFF_REF and/or MY_POTA_REF directly so that no extra conversion is needed when a SOTA summit is within a WWFF or POTA zone.
It also calculates MY_GRIDSQUARE and GRIDSQUARE automatically when possible.
Yes andy, very useful! using that conversion to POTA was easily done
Alan
Have you tried with the new WWFF/POTA fields ?
It should be even easier.
No, im going to look for that next! Thanks for pointing it out to me
