Congratulations to Fraser MM0EFI on gaining his MG today

Well the Uniques disease set in very early and as soon as I realised I was really enjoying driving around new parts of the country and seeing new landscapes, there was no stopping me. Happily the same bug affected Paul G4MD and we teamed up in 2007 to do hills together, so it’s not been a lonely journey. :grinning:

I very much doubt completion of GM/SS will happen for me and I’ve not earmarked it as a target. I’m having too much fun on the big ones… while I can! With regards to the Trans-Atlantic S2S event, I am alerted for Ben Chonzie GM/SS-015, but the weather is not looking good and it’s a long trek in the dark which could be rather miserable in wet weather. I’ve worked up itineraries for alternatives and will update the alert nearer the time. Geal-charn GM/CS-043 is looking like it might be a strong contender, my only concern being setting up suitable shelter on the rocky summit… I would try not to use the summit shelter for obvious reasons. You never know, I might appear on a summit near you. :grinning:

Ben Chonzie has a decent shelter but it will be a busy summit, especially on a weekend. It appears in top ten easiest Munros lists.

Well I’m likely to be on a 1 pointer near to Dundee, either GM/SS-192 or GM/SS-271. I have family visitations that evening, so not what I’d originally planned. SS-271 is likely to be deserted and has a dry stone wall across the top according to google streetview (yes they’ve been up there!), so it is looking like the favourite.

Indeed, but 15km walking in the rain, half of it in the dark does not particularly appeal. :joy:

I’ve emailed you some info on those eastern SS’s which might or might not be helpful at some stage. If you end up on Turin Hill I will be chasing hard for the Complete. :grinning:
