Well done to Archie, @GM4KNU, who reached Mountain Goat today on Meall Buidhe, GM/SS-060.

Archie has been legging it around Munros (he’s the top Munro activator for 2024, 2025 and so far in 2026!) and reached this milestone in less than two years!

Many congratulations Archie. I was listening on 40m for you to say congrats, but conditions robbed me of that privilege and also the Complete. Ah well, as they say, “if it wasn’t for the rain, you’d never appreciate the sun”. Well done… and I gather the weather was okay as well. Nice hill.

All, thanks for the comments and birthday wishes it’s been a great journey and had planned the finish on The Ben but the xyl insisted joining me despite a running knee injury. GM/SS-060 was therefore a late minute change.

I’ve had great fun over the last couple of years activating and the planning/ cycle and walks in and out. The uncertainty of who you will and will not work due to band conditions never fails to elate and disappoint me. The most pleasure is from the contacts and without chasers and S2S QSO’s it would be a bit empty.

So thanks for all the contacts on the last 161 summits from far and near and that reminds me, now I’m home, I should update the activation log!

Finally I’m looking forward to the next 1,000 and should be operating further afield as the VW camper van has been delivered and had its third Sota outing today.

Congratulations Archie, well done, and in a fairly short timescale too.

Glad to have been part of it , chasing and s2s along the way. And actually meeting in person at Galashiels last Autumn.
