Hmmm, seems like Plan B will be in operation next Monday… Sunday as well most likely. Thanks for the information Brian.

In reply to G8ADD:

Yes indeed, the met office fell top conditions report does not paint a very savoury picture at present, and with more snow forecast it’s unlikely to be getting any better…

Looks like I will be walking to work again before Spring arrives.

Ah well, I do need the excercise

Take care those of you who do go out, & don’t take unneccesary risks or do anything that would put yourself or anybody called out to rescue you at risk.

Be prepared!

This winter does seemed to have dragged on a bit longer than usual.

Sorry to bump this one, guys, but the carnage continues:

I remember being hit by a big powder snow avalanche in Crowberry Gully on the Buachaille, we were belayed at the time, so we took the hint and retreated!

The latest SAIS avalanche forecasts are mental for all the forecast areas.

And that is if you can get to the highlands in the first place!

Update: Just read that an extreme warning was actually considered (although not implemented) for tomorrow in at least one area

A big avalanche and 2 very lucky skiers
