Black Combe Walking Festival - 1st to 10th June 20

Hi all.

Just a quick note to alert members to the above.

Areas include Black Combe, Millom, Haverigg, Duddon Valley and Eskdale.

Black Combe Walking Festival covers 10 days of guided walks and talks at the gateway to the Western Lake District so these areas may become very busy at times.

just to remind everyone coming to the Lakes that this weekend will be busy.

I would love a list of quiet weekends in the Lakes. They seem rarer than the busy ones.

Hi Richard.

I know what you mean. Living in the Lakes has it’s plus points but also negative ones also.

Thankfully, Frizington is not in the really busy tourist hot spots area, so manage to avoid much of the traffic etc but fells certainly get busy, even over this way courtesy of Wasdale and Ennerdale being popular areas closest to us.

I keep wanting to do Great Gable but already this is a very busy area.

It’s great that people want to enjoy the area but must admit there are times when I have enjoyed a summit better when on my own with just the dogs for company.
