Any Activators Keeping an Eye on Sporadic-E?

Sporadic-E season is at it’s peak at the moment and I’ve already heard stories from activators receiving distant stations on 2m. To my knowledge, no-one managed to get a full Es QSO yet. Roman @DL3TU came very close to working an EA station yesterday, but unfortunately wasn’t able to complete the QSO

There are many skilled VHF/UHF challenge activators here in central Europe! Quite a few are well prepared to take advantage of a sporadic-E opening should they be lucky enough to encounter one.

I’ve been quite active as a chaser in this year’s Challenge and fairly active as an activator, where I always prioritize S2S contacts. I’d love to make a 2 m sporadic-E SOTA chase this year - or maybe even an S2S!

For this reason, I’m curious to hear whether there are any activators in EA, F, EI, G, SV, or other regions at a similar distance from Germany who also try to take advantage of sporadic-E openings when they get the chance. By that I mean bringing a decent antenna like a Yagi, ideally some power, and keeping an eye on Es conditions using tools such as this map.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you, as well as from the activators I already know. I think it’s useful to know who on the other side is also aware of sporadic-E, so we can maximize our chances for unforgettable QSOs and S2S over the coming months.

In the end, Es is largely a matter of luck. Still, knowing that the other station is monitoring conditions and is prepared to make the most of an opening makes it much more worthwhile to give it a try :victory_hand:
