Another z-match for QMX

For travel I put together a versatile L-coupler that can match about anything from a 2.5m ground plane to a long wire. From 0 to 25uH and from 0 to 1500pf. Small, 125g, bifiliar choke included. Inspired by @VK3YE and @DL8LRC. Possible in this form factor thanks to on-off-on switches.

Perfect solution, Peter.
The great tuner in the KX2 is no better. It does it automatically. But you learn a lot about the tuning and the corresponding values.

Nice design, Peter!
I’m using an L-match for my activations since many years. Lightweight, simple and versatile. Matches a 20 metre wire on all bands from 10m to 60m. Link

Thank you for the link Roman. You have interesting stuff there! I’ve also built Peter’s l-coupler, with an SWR indicator, for the QCX 20. With the coupler switched to CL mode, it tunes a 6m wire & 2.5m CP well for 20m and 30m for quick setups.

…brilliant idea to integrate the SWR indicator into the L-tuner. This way, the QMX will see an SWR of max. 2 : 1 in the “Tune” position and the somewhat nervous SWR protection circuit won’t trip while tuning.
