Good report! I remember these rainbow apparitions from my skiing times, always loved seeing them.
Even though you didn’t have much lack on 2m this time, are you generally happy with SRH770S? I want to start trying VHF again after my first fail, but need a better antenna than a rubber ducky.

Yes I am using the SRH770 telescopic version. It performs very well, I have an original Diamond for my FT1D, and a clone with a BNC connector, that I use for my FT65 and the IC705. They both seem to perform about the same.
In just checking part numbers, I notice the clone actually is a RH770 whilst the original is SRH770. Very confusing when the addition of an S appears to be a different aerial

My Beofang has an SMA connector which I understand SRH770 has too. I may want to consider it then.
To add to confusion, WiMo carry the original Diamond as SRH-770S (with an additional “S”) at the end, but I suppose it is the same thing.
