Another Swiss activator has now achieved mountain goat status: congratulations to Albert, HB9BCK. A recent trip to the beautiful Appenzell hills provided the necessary points. Albert did the summits at a good pace, he needed only 1 year and 7 months to reach this milestone.
Albert lives in eastern Switzerland, so it’s easy for him to reach out for the mountains in the Austrian state Vorarlberg for a day trip. Since I like to spend my vacations there, he has already provided to me a few SOTA Completes. I don’t really understand why there aren’t more activators visiting the summits there. The Austrians don’t bite, guys!
Albert is versatile: he hikes on many altitude levels and likes both CW and phone. His equipment is good, at least for me, hi: a Summit to Summit between us actually always works, even where I can’t hear others. He also has relevant experience as a DXer. At present he is often on the air as HB75SG with the callsign of the Radioclub St. Gallen.
