Adif upload doesn’t work any longer. Screenshot attached.
403 is a permission error - it’s because Brave is being overly aggressive in not allowing the login token to be sent to a different domain (via the API). I believe you need to lower the BraveShields or something for the site. @mm0fmf has more information.
Yeah, working fine here. Just uploaded a log from my summit, whilst still on the summit. VK Port-a-log and android phone.
This is to do with possibly some changes Andrew made to support logging out when you had multiple SOTA tabs open. And that is to do with the never ending escalation of browser security as hacker try more and more ways to break security measures.
I use Firefox and Brave on Windows, Linux and just Brave on Android. In Firefox I have many plugins to enhance privacy etc. such as NoScript, Ghostery, uBlock Origin. You don’t need these with Brave as it has it’s own tools to block adverts and scripts. By default these are enabled on Brave.
Since the updates, you need to drop Brave’s shields to make it work on SOTA webpages. This is not a privacy issue as you are going to log into to these domains anyway.
This shows where the Brave Shields button is located, I was logged in to SOTAwatch.
Click the shield and the next page appears. This shows that shields are up and the name of the site the shields are working on. Click the highlighted slider button. This disables shields for the site. Things should now work fine.
If you use Brave on Android, you need to go to settings and the Shields page is in there.
And why Brave for those that don’t know?
Brave is built from the same source that Google Chrome is built from. So it does everything Chrome does and works like Chrome. But there’s no Google Spyware built in.
I have persuaded Mrs FMF to use Brave instead of Edge or Chrome. She never got on with Firefox + adblockers as it was too hard to use to buy things online. But she never complains about Brave and there’s less IT support needed from me
Hi all !
Have a question maybe on wrong place !
What happens between 08:12 and 09:29 trying to put a test spot (2) and nothing…

Your test:
Make sure you do not have “Ignore Test Spots” set in SOTAwatch settings. Click the cog wheel and check the settings
ok you got it Andy
but 17 minutes without spot

I’m sure Carlos when activate a summit (was 20m CW) QSY to SSB other band ! Maybe he got a bad weather …
Thank you Andy. That was it. Had worked with the old Brave settings until this morning, now ok with shields down. Thank you for the fast reaction as well. SOTA is a very friendly group of people!
Please, what software should I use to generate ADIF files for SOTA uploads?
TKS.
I’m using Ham2K on the phone. Works well and is convenient.
- PoLo Ham2k logger
- Vk Port a Log
- Log4OM 2
- FLE Fastlog entry
Every half descent logging software should the SOTA specific ADIF tags. It’s honestly not that difficult.

I log on paper on the summit. Back at home I use FLE to create an ADIF file. I upload this to both SOTA and POTA. I then import into Log4OM and then upload to LoTW.
And of course you can upload the FLE file directly without going via ADIF
