Actual or maybe kite antenna activations

Hello,

G4ROJ (Roger) & G3PKW (Andy) were /P this afternoon from Lincolnshire. Had a chat with Andy; lots of very interesting techy stuff to make things work. Roger is OK about enquiries via email ( he was taking photos at the time).

An article has been submitted for Radcom perhaps for publication next month.

Wow, a steerable full size 80M delta loop! Very impressive. After 30 years experience of using kites to support antennas I guess he knows what he is talking about.

Yes having some control over the direction impressed me. I spent quite a while listening before I called and certainly someone to contact if anyone is considering putting together a kite antenna…

I’d have thought that if you weren’t using an omni suspended vertically that steerability was the major requirement. Other wise you have a random antenna with a random radiation pattern and random contacts.
