Great report as always… eMTB is a great way to go. I did the exact same thing on NW-032 a couple of months ago. Unfortunately it was a horrible day. I’ll be back next year on a better day I hope.
I did Foel Cedig afterwards too!

I couldn’t believe that the track up to Foel Cedig was completely dry. I would imagine you had the usual large puddles a few weeks ago.
Nice summit - I remember my first time up there with the mountaineering club. 
RE heavy rucksack + bicycle. I agree. It puts a lot of weight onto your ‘soft’ bits (bum hurty + imbalance when trying to navigate technical sections).
FS bikes are a bit difficult with luggage, but comfort and traction are worth the compromise when it gets bumpy & loose.

As it was raining for most of the journey… I did indeed have puddles and the river crossing was tricky.
