Activation of fifteen mountains in the DM/BW region

Depending on WX, our local radio club A18 Furtwangen plans to activate several mountains in the Black Forest (DM/BW region) at the same time on Saturday, July 12th.
The activity is supported by HAMs of the local radio clubs A07, A14, A18, A24, A28, A34, as well as HAMs of P06 and P12 on the Swabian Alb.
From 08:30 UTC, our teams will initially work on 2m/FM. After that some teams will also be QRV on KW. Spots are submitted to SOTAWatch.
Our mountains are DM/BW-001, DM/BW-002, DM/BW-003, DM/BW-008, DM/BW-009, DM/BW-010, DM/BW-014, DM/BW-015, DM/BW-058, DM/BW-089, DM/BW-099, DM/BW-284, DM/BW-314, DM/BW-531 and DM/BW-640.

We are looking forward to many QSOs.

I plan to activate DM/BW-029 at the same time (07:30 - 09:30 UTC). 2m/FM and HF/SSB. I hope for many S2S QSOs and wish you good activations.

Thank you Clemens @DD2TC for organizing your activity this year. I can’t be there this year, at least not on 2m FM. Maybe we’ll hear each other on shortwave. Have fun and good luck to all involved.

If you’re interested in collecting S2S points… this is a great opportunity!
Especially from summits in Switzerland or the Vosges Mountains with a good view of the Black Forest.

A small vertical Yagi… open the squelch… and collect points.

Thanks for organising this event again, Clemens @DD2TC !
It was a great morning with perfect weather to participate in the fun.

QRV on 2m FM and SSB from DM/BW-099

I had 17 S2S-QSOs with 11 different summits. ODX was about 120 km, all with 5 watts and a four element log-periodic antenna for 2m/70.
The ancient Belcom-LS 202E, which I bring along every year for possible SSB contacts, did not contribute a QSO.

There was a surprisingly large number of visitors who were interested in my activity. Some of the well known questions but also interesting discussions about all aspects of life

It was great fun! Thanks to everyone who participated. Hope to hear you again next time!!
