The summit Obuenitsa (1085 m) is located about 1.8 km southwest of the village of Bosnek, in the southeastern part of the Golo Bardo mountain range.
The peak is mostly covered by coniferous and mixed forests, with scrub vegetation around the highest point.
Because the route is largely treeless, it offers fantastic panoramas of the southwestern slopes of Vitosha Mountain, Verila Mountain, and Rila Mountain in the distance.
Beneath Obuenitsa and the surrounding hills lies a complex system of caves. The area is part of the drainage basin of the longest cave in Bulgaria – Duhlata (over 18 km long).
