Activating on Memorial Day in the US

Today is Memorial Day in the US, when we are supposed to honor and mourn the U.S. military personnel who died while serving, and of course since it’s a day off I activated two summits. But the whole time I was reflecting on all those people in history from many countries who risked their lives to send radio reports from behind the lines. They had some very small radios–the paraset comes to mind–but they would have been astonished by the QRP rigs that exist today.

So, today I was thankful to be able to do SOTA activations. With nobody shooting at me.

thanks for the contact, you had a good signal in SoCal
