Some weeks before our family holiday on Sardinia (IS0) I was looking for a reachable summit. I was limited by public transportation. Thanks to Thomas DL2TG I’ve found Monte Nai IS0/IS-296. Also the equipment was limited by public transportation. I took my Lo-band QMX, a LiPo 11.1 V 2.6 Ah, my 5 m telescopic fishing pole and an EFHW for 20 m.
There is a bus connecting Villa Simius and Costa Rei where the summit is. It was not sure to buy tickets in the bus. So I was going to the tourist info the day before in the hot afternoon. Oops, closed until 5 pm. Going after 5 pm and bought tickets, 1.90 € one way, 32 minutes ride. Feeling 36 °C and more in the shadow it was clear I had to go as early as possible.
5 am my phone was ringing. 5:30 I was starting the 2 km to the bus stop (because of health issues I’m a slow hiker).

6:30 the bus brought me to Costa Rei, bus stop hotel Free Beach.
Right summit is Monte Nai IS0/IS-296, 700 m like the crow flies and 210 m higher
Looking at the map the weeks before I saw no paths between the houses from one street to the other. So I decided to go only on streets and found one way over 1.8 km from the bus stop to the beginning of a path for the last 400 m of the way.
Indeed there was absolutely no other way than using the streets.

I was glad to get 17 QSO in 35 minutes. After some CQ without an answer I called it a day. The way back was harder than the way up. There was nearly no shadow on the 2 km way down on streets and the sun was really up. Fortunately I was allowed to refresh in the washroom of the Free Beach resort and stay for 1 ½ h in the lobby until the bus came.
Thanks to all the chasers for there patience with my sometimes poor cw from this summit.
It was only a 1 point summit to me but a new association and maybe a new summit to some chasers.
