For members of the ‘Julia Bradbury appreciation society’ there is a new series entitled ‘Railway Walks’ on BBC4 Thursdays at 8:30. The first was in the Peak District last night - just caught it on BBC iPlayer.

Something to get steamed up about, eh Roger? Ah, the nostalgia!
Hopefully it will evoke the emotions set alight by one of my favourite books - “Discovering Britain’s Lost Railways” by Paul Atterbury.
Off now go see.

since we are on this subject did anyone work ROTA, What’s ROTA you may well ask Railways on the air, 27 & 28 September 2008, From different locations in the Uk, From the Ribble Steam Railway in Preston to Paignton & Dartmoor Steam Railway, I did read it in October’s Radcom page 08.

In reply to M0SGB :
I worked GM3TKV/P from Dufton with Barry 'TOE operating when I was on May Hill Saturday, and GB0GWR from Cheltenham when having a tune around on the campsite the next day - and rather than face Ruardean Hill (not my idea of a fun hill!) I visited the Forest of Dean railway later that day! Well, they call it steam radio, so why not?
