Yes it was great to hear you on a summit.
A fascinating account of an incredible hike. I had no idea when I was unpacking my 2m fm gear on Moel y Golfa (GW/MW-027) that the first thing I was going to hear was a CQ SOTA from the Lake District! I heard you first on the RH-770 but realised I had to slot together the mast as quickly as I could.
There was no time to peg out the mast on the rocky lump I was standing on beside the gypsy monument so I just held it up at full stretch and tried to time my ‘summit to summit’ call in the hopes that I would get through your pile-up - but to no avail. At last, after about 10 attempts, I just asked the chasers to tell you that a S2S was calling you (with no idea if anyone would either hear me or decide to help), but 2 contacts later I heard you say that you’d been told a summit was calling and you called me in. I gave you 52 and was amazed that my 5w was getting a 55 in return. The marvellous s2s database tells me that this was 200km which is very good (but nowhere near my longest). Thanks to you for calling me in and to the chaser who passed on the message - and all the other chasers who kept quiet during our QSO. When I was fully set up a few minutes later your calls continued coming through loud and clear so there must be an unexpected good path. Many thanks for the contact - and the mention in your log!

Thanks for posting a photo Viki, its always interesting to see a photo of the other endbof the qso. It was great to get a S2S with you.
Looks like you had some fine weather for your activation.
It was a good pileup from St Sunday Crag, I was just using the HT and RH770, but worked some good distances. Looks like you had a good activation too. Is that mast made from electrical conduit?
always great to get you in the log on your adventures well done Mathew.
Nothing to add – outstanding! Thanks for sharing and the bunch of work with both hike and report.
