It does look like most vapes are going into recycling bins at vape shops etc. I hardly see them now on dog walks etc. Or if I do they have been thrown from cars and been squashed.
Anyway I have acquired 4 “big-uns” the last 3 weeks. They provided 1x 23350 (3.67V), 1x 21350 (3.72V) and 2x 22350 (3.58V, 3.68V) Which was good in that I can now make up a
3x 21350 pack (1400mAh), a 3x 23350 (1700mAh).
It leaves me with a quandary as I only have 2x 22350 cells and they would make a 1800mAh pack.
Does anyone have a single 22350 6.66Wh 1800mAh cell they want to swap for something out of the following cells: 20400, 18350, 18250, 13400, 13350. No cash, no money just a swap of cells so we can each complete a pack.
Interesting side note to this post and the original. Whilst on Minch Moor GM/SS-133 today I heard an intriguing comment. I had got to the top and unfortunately into the cloud so set up my shelter and then got inside to change my base layer which was damp with perspiration and starting to chill me. I heard some voices and part of the conversation was " oh their probably just dogging" as four ladies jogged by…
They ran past and then stopped trying to figure out their route, by which time I had changed my shirt and was able to point them in the direction they wanted.
I didn’t even have a dog with me today…

Chris MM0UHR was setting up his station a few yards away laughed and said it may have been less embarrassing than trying to explain what was really going on !
Needless to say the cloud cleared and the sun appeared as we packed up.
The screen looks like it has a built in battery charge meter on it.
I wonder if you could add a resistor divider to drop the pack voltage to the right level to feed into the meter.
The clock would be useful if you log on paper and need the current time.
I can’t think of a radio related use for the Bluetooth and speaker as yet.
The Xtron Vape 30K is an innovative vaping device that combines advanced technology with a robust vaping experience. Capable of delivering up to 30,000 puffs, it features a rechargeable battery and offers a nicotine strength of 50 mg (5%). This device boasts a touch screen interface that supports Bluetooth connectivity, enabling calls and text notifications right from your vape. Users can customize their wallpaper, take photos, check the weather, and even play games. With adjustable airflow and dual mesh coils for enhanced flavor, the Xtron ensures a satisfying vaping experience. It also includes a USB Type-C charging port for convenient recharging and is draw-activated for ease of use.
As noted, the 30K refers to 30,000 puffs. Hmm, that’s one hill for someone like me (without the device).
50mg of nicotine is illegal in the UK. Also the disposable vape ban comes in to force from June 1st so now is the time to stock up on those free batteries. Working in retail its a pain because the suppliers are trying to off load them to the stores, but the stores aren’t buying them in because we dont want to be stuck with them and they cant be returned!
The sad fact about the ban is manufacturers are now just making vapes non-disposable by including a USB port and chip to recharge the LiPO.
Still marketing them as “a load of puffs per charge”
All for a few pence more per vape. And then consumers continue to buy them and use them as disposables.
My local vape shop confirms…. No decline in business from the local nicotine addicts since the major brands have switched to ‘rechargeable’ and marketing them as close as possible to disposable.
There’s some reports of fire (no pun intended) sales on these disposable ones at the moment ahead of the ban and people bulk buying so I think there will be a supply of free batteries for a little while yet.
I’ll have to go out wombling and try and hunt down one or two for my Lora tracker.
I didn’t see the vapes (I was there this morning). Are they by the batteries?
I’ve found an old power bank at home so I’ve spent the evening repurposing the cells from that, 4000 mAh might be a bit overkill!
