I’ve done a few activations in January with a vertical and ATU and have just swapped to a link dipole. I reckon the link dipole will be less of a problem than the vertical because you don’t need to lay out radials or counterpoises on the ground. An inverted V for 40m doesn’t really seem to cover too much area and has no trip danger.
I wouldnt add 50mhz to it though. I reckon you’d be better off with telescoping aluminium tube to make a dipole with.
