Congratulations @MM0YCJ Colwyn… just spotted you’ve tipped over the 9000 Activator Points total.
Even more impressive is it is 100% Unique and across 42 (!!!) Associations covering so much of the world. I’m pretty sure that your 9000+ points is by a fair margin the highest total from only doing Uniques.
You and I started SOTA within a couple of months of each other in 2011, what an amazing effort to get to that total in 14 years. Shows massive dedication.
Big congrats Colwyn for your route to MG #9. A true mountaingoat also heard on challenging alpjne peaks and not shy of bringing rope and ice axe along.
Keep on adventuring because it looks like it’s truly your thing.
thanks for your congratulations and also your help on EA8/TF-012, Chinobre last November, I couldn’t have done it without you and it was great to meet you both out on the Canary Islands.
I am not sure so about the 100% unique approach, it sometimes feels like a bit of a curse, but it is somewhat too late to change now!
I achieved my 9th Mountain Goat earlier on 23rd March after an activation of F/AB-441, Tête de Cabeau (1658m), I admit a ski lift (one of three) got me to the activation zone of this particular summit and a short walk in the snow to a suitable temporary shack in sunshine.
It took only just over 12 months gestation for this latest goat to finally appear, which might be my fastest, but I was chasing a winter mountain goat (musk ox?) this season, so I had some increased motivation.
Currently skiing in France and then heading east to Austria for a week in April.
I need to thank all of the many, many chasers who have made my 9th Goat possible and the S-2-S contacts. Thanks to all of you for saving me from spending any more time on some remote and chilly summits!
Thanks also to Ann my wife.
Just realised tomorrow is the final winter bonus day here, speak soon!
a very impressive nice line chart, just the kind of figure I enjoy trying to interpret.
SARS CoV2 effects clear, but also a rebound after lockdown was over. Also a suggestion that when I get close to the next mountain goat there is a little uptick in activity, or is that just a winter bonus effect?
