I didn’t have the heart to throw it out … so today I checked it out, and of course it was again the thin wires in the rotating boom that had broken, but this time the wires were beyond repair. So what to do ?
Aha, solution : if you can’t get new wires THROUGH the thin plastic boom tube … put the wires AROUND the boom !
So I did, and I can happily report that the headset is working again, and I will use it on my 2 next activations tomorrow …
After I took the picture, I wrapped the whole boom in rubber tape, to make it look a bit neater.
