70cm LoRa Trackers Available (UK Only)

Are you using the web flasher. If so select Heltec Tracker, you maybe to try a couple of versions, can’t remember for the tracker I.e Heltec Tracker V2 or V3 etc. if you open the case you will be able to see the version.

AHH OK

Isn’t it just “Heltec Wireless Tracker”?

This is the link to the web flasher

Yes, I couldn’t remember but just updated my tracker, not a SOTA tracker one but it is a Heltec board that I fitted in a SOTA enclosure.

My steps…

  1. Using Web Flasher CA2RXU LoRa Tracker Firmware Flasher ;
  2. SOTA APRS Tracker connected via a data USB cable (which works because I’ve successfully flashed it with Meshtastic, which proves the board is working and proves the cable and port are Ok);
  3. Web Flasher - Board selected “Heltec Wireless Tracker”;
  4. Firmware version - have tried several!;
  5. Type - First flash/factory reset;
  6. Select ‘Flash Firmware’;
  7. Select ‘Paired Serial Port’;
  8. Select ‘heltec_wireless_tracker’ etc;
  9. Erase device ticked, Next…;
  10. Select ‘Install’;
  11. Installing…. preparing installation….;
  12. It FAILS! :frowning:
  13. Failed to initialize. Try resetting your device or holding the BOOT button while clicking INSTALL.
    Tried that, no good :frowning:

I’m not sure if this will be any help, but a few months ago for the RSGB Coding week there was a High Altitude Balloon challenge.

Following this there was a “Waht to do with my Lora Tracker Now” guide at How can I use my LoRa tracker now the RSGB challenge has finished? - Radio Society of Great Britain - Main Site : Radio Society of Great Britain – Main Site

If I remember correctly, there was an alterntive metrhod to the web flasher.

Have you put the tracker into bootloader mode?
What browser are you using?

For the Firmware I’m trying and have been instructed to use doesn’t use Bootloader? (if needed, how please?) DFU mode? I’m using Chrome browser.

After 3hrs, I’m about to admit defeat today!!! :frowning:
