433Alive Sunday 22nd February 2026

The date of the next installment of the 433Alive activity has been announced as Sunday 22nd February 2026.

Primarily for 70cm FM but with the main activity window being between noon and 3pm , its an ideal oportunity for some SSB either before, after or during quiet periods to tie in with the sota challenge.

If the weather is kind, I will be taking the beam up Billinge as usual.

The weather is not going to be kind so sota is off the table as neither me or Peter fancy sitting for 3+ hours in the rain on Billinge Hill.

Will be operating from matchmoor lane (IO83RO) on the side of G/Sp-010 Winter Hill and from the car so wont be sota valid. Feel free to call in though and say hello.

Hi Ian, I don’t think we’ll get out to SOTA in Wales either, but I’ll try to give you a shout from home if we are back from the gym in time. If the weather forecast improves, we’ll try to get up to a summit somewhere, but it will only be a 1-pointer probably.

We shoud be there for the full 3 hours noon till 3 unless things are really dire band wise. It normally slows down from aboout 2pm so I might drop onto SSB (vertical) to give that a try or even 23cm.

Should be an pretty straightforward hop into liverpool, so I hope can call in.

I know a couple of others were planning summits but not sure if that will still be case. Adrian G1OXH for Shining Tor should be a good signal if he braves the weather, and Dave G0DJA will be somewhere high (normally Merryton Low)

Peter mentioned about taking HF to try out some car antennas so its not like we will be bored

You see so many pictures of hot sunny days or those sharp crisp winter days that we imagine every day is like that  Maybe I should get some of people looking miserable in the mizzle

Bump, Are you still going to be out and about? I’m in North Liverpool so I’ll keep listening for you.

I sure am but won’t be a Sota activation. The wetyher forecast put paid to that earlier in the week, and I don’t fancy sitting in the rain on Billinge Hill for 3 hours.

Will be heading out to Matchmoor lane on the side of winter hill.shortly and operating from a warm and dry car

Other than the 70cm fm, we should be trying out some other stuff too.

Peter (M1BZJ) wants to try out his new HF antenna for the car, and I need to test a new 23cm beam so hopefully lots of activity from there, just not sota.
