2M Folding Moxon

Hello all, I just wanted to share the 2M folding moxon I designed. Moxons are wide banded so the whole 2M band is covered with this antenna. And the great thing is that you can use this horizontally or vertically.

Here are the files if you want to make your own if you have a 3D printer. I’d enjoy seeing some pics of anyone’s build, especially in use on a summit. If you don’t have a 3D printer or rather not build, I do make very small batches a couple times a year.

You had me at 2 meters! :star_struck: Thanks for sharing. Did you print in PETG?

I am in the middle of building the DL2MAN Moxon for 270 - I finished building the 70cm part yesterday, it seems to have a fairly high SWR (about 2.5 to 3).

I’ll give your antenna a try though once I finish the one I am building for sure. 73.

Yes I used PETG. When I measure SWR I typically get a range of around 1.1-1.4 sometimes better, and that is for the entire band. I suggest when building this one for the first time, don’t heat shrink the ends on the wire spacers until you check SWR incase you need to adjust anything.

I have upgraded the folding pocket moxon substantially. Here is a link to the video if you would like to make your very own. Build instructions as well as how to get the new 3d print files are in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3HqDZlxQKCs
