Announcing the fourth annual W2 Fall Campout! The 2026 fall campout will be held Thursday, September 10 through Sunday, September 13. Campout activity will be centered around the W2/GA region (Adirondacks).
This is a beautiful area with many peaks from 1-10 points and everything from short hikes and drive ups to alpine climbs and 10+ mile day hikes. Previous years have been a great time with lots of S2S activity on both VHF and HF.
Camping: Attendees are encouraged to book campsites at the Wilmington Notch Campground. The campground is just north of Lake Placid, NY in the heart of the High Peaks region where there are numerous amenities. Please book your site at:
Here are some suggested summits within a 20-mile radius of the campground (the order is based on distance), there are other summits in the radius but they may be bushwhacks or have other access considerations. Some of these are are more difficult hikes so please research appropriately and reach out to fellow SOTA activators for information:
