Greetings!
It is with great excitement that we are announcing the 2nd Annual Queens of the Mountains YL SOTA Special Event Weekend starting 0000Z on June 7 and ending at 2359Z on June 8, 2025.
The biggest change from last year is we are inviting YLs from around the world to activate summits. We received a great deal of positive feedback and support from several international YL resources last year, and we hope that will translate into YLs world-wide making this a truly international event.
Unlike last year, we are not requiring the use of special 1x1 call signs for US participants. Of course, you are free to apply for and use such a call sign, but everyone should feel free to use her own call sign.
We encourage all of you around the world, OM and YL, to chase the Queens, and all SOTA YLs around the world to activate. Remember that in addition to certificates recognizing various levels of achievement by YL activators, ALL chasers are eligible to receive a certificate for working 5 or more YL activators.
Please spread the word, mark your calendar, and show your support by joining us for this event. If you are a YL wanting to participate but are not sure how, please reach out to either of us and we will get you rolling. We encourage the use of #YLSOTA and #QOM in your alerts, spots, and social media to highlight YL activity and this event. We hope this event will continue to highlight the fabulous opportunity SOTA offers for women in radio and motivate more YLs to get involved with SOTA.
