The Thirteenth Scottish Microwave Round Table GMRT-2025, will go ahead between 10.30 and 17.00 on Saturday 1st November at the Museum of Communication, Burntisland, Fife. An interesting programme of speakers has been arranged, microwave test facilities will be provided and there will be an opportunity to buy components and microwave-related items. An optional Dinner will be held in the evening at the Kingswood Hotel. Full information and online registration are now available at https://gmroundtable.org.uk/
A number of SOTA activators who do microwave activations along with regular microwave chasers will be in attendance. This makes this a useful event if you are already active in SOTA and are getting interested in microwaves. You can talk to people who can guide you in getting started in SOTA microwaves or just microwaves in general.
Burntisland is about 30 mins by train from Edinburgh’s city centre railway station, Waverley which means the event can be reached by public transport if you do not want to drive. Best of all if you come by train from Edinburgh you get to travel over Scotland’s iconic Forth Bridge (the red one which the apocryphal tale says is permanently being painted and featured in films like The 39 Steps).
