The 12th SOTA-SP Jamboree (a.k.a. XI Zlot SOTA SP), in other words the annual SOTA meetup in Poland, will take place from October 3rd to 5th, 2024 in Rycerka Górna, Poland (obviously 
). A few dozen SOTA activators, chasers and fans are expected to attend. We are keen to welcome among us any foreign guests who would fancy to join Polish SOTA community for a weekend full of activating, chasing and talking SOTA. And - of course - to enjoy together a variety of local food and drink.
The event will take place in the southwestern part of SP/BZ region (grid square JN99MK), not far from the place where borders of Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland meet. The local hills belong to mountain range called Beskid Żywiecki, named for the township of Żywiec, where the famous brewery is located… But let’s not get distracted and come back on topic: the summits closest to the Jamboree location and thus most likely to be activated on the 1st weekend of October: OM/ZA-045, SP/BZ-028, SP/BZ-018, SP/BZ-011, SP/BZ-016, SP/BZ-040 etc. - see the attached map (X marks the spot).
I have booked for the jamboree attendees 2 nights of exclusive use at the Rycerka youth hostel (Schronisko Młodzieżowe w Rajczy, obiekt Rycerka), which can accommodate 49 people in double, quadruple, quintuple and sextuple rooms. There is a self-service kitchen equipped with dishes and equipment needed to prepare a meal, dining room, kitchenette by the common room, fireplace, grill, roofed shelter with tables and benches. It is possible to order full board, or lunch or dinner, to be delivered. The chosen location prioritizes affordability over comfort. The price is 120 PLN for 2 nights. If we happen to exceed the hostel capacity, other lodgings are available in the vicinity.
