Pretty amazing for a 9V battery. As far as I’m aware every activation has been a success. The secret ingredient is use of SOTAwatch and the SMSbot plus supportive chasers. Thanks!

In reply to LA1KHA:

Looks like a new record is within reach for you Kjell with battery #3. I am progressing with my new design. So far the first mixer/oscillator is complete (2.2mA). If all goes well I should be able to make a complete superhet with high performance ladder crystal filters that will take around 7mA. I may take on your suggestion and reduce the TX power a bit from my current 300mW to about 150mW. I suspect that will take quite a bit of experimenting to get right. In theory I should be able to get the TX current down below 50mA at that level. That would allow many hours of operating from a PP3. Is 300 QSOs possible?

Tanks for info G3CWI Richard. I think your low power TRX would be most successful. This rig would be a real Rockmite killer.
My plan is to go other way around.Even cruder design with less power and with near 0 in RX performance.
With present setup I do not believe that it is possible to do more than 160-165 QSO Battery at 7.9v now, output is now decreasing .I tested the rig to 70mW@8v.

In reply to LA1KHA:

It’s time to start taking bets on whether Kjell will get 200+ qsos from a single battery.

Andy
MM0FMF

MM0FMF Andy. I wouldn’t bet to high on 200+QSO. But if I am lucky It can happens. Output are low now. <70mW Today I wasted lots of mAH on calling cq. 10.120 was so crowded so I waited some time and when silent on frq no one come back to my calls. The WX was -1c snowing/ nearly rain. some +5cm while I was up on the summit.
