Kosvinskiy Kamen - 1508m - 10 Points R9U/NO-002 today

I am listening to Serge RV9DC/P on 20m. Serge is still 599 with QSB down to 579 on 14062 CW and has been for over one hour!

Fine business to see the Northern Urals QSV, so loud and so easily workable by the CW chasers. Serge has worked a continuous stream of callers. It will be interesting to review his log when it goes into the database.

Was wondering when these Sota’s come on stream.
And its good they have finally fired up, be interesting to hear the SSB side of things for they lot further away than most.
Be good if one could reach them on 40m on my little system.

Look forwards to trying :hushed:

Unfortunately I had to work and was not able to work you, but well done Serge!

Hi all,

Having been up since 3AM this morning I was well prepared for Sergei’s activation , although as luck would have it I was just about to step into the shower when I heard his first QRL? on 14.062 CW. After a second QRL? was followed by his CQ I abandoned my shower & answered his call.

A few other chasers also replied & were picked out first so I spotted Sergei, as did the RBN. He very quickly had a good pile-up so it was about 7 minutes before he finally picked me out & I could continue with my shower Hi!

Sergei was a good signal throughout on 20m with some QSB at times & was still working away merrily when I eventually left for work

I would recommend having a look at this summit in Google Earth or Google Maps to get an idea of what it looks like. It appears to me to look like an old lava dome jutting up about 1KM above the generally flat surrounding terrain & appears quite rocky. Possibly Snow covered this time of year?

In any case congratulations to Sergei RV9DC for the first activation of this summit & thank you very much for the QSO.

Very best 73,
