Kevlar/wire

I used the DX Wire UL for a portable doublet antenna twice seemed to work well but I find the miltary spec green type more robust hassle free that I use on my EFHWA and a dipole.
I noticed the DX Wire was easy to tangle and the plastic outer insulation was easily damaged, noticed a few cuts on the outer. I now use computer ribbon cable for the portable doublet cheaper to replace and if I was looking for permanent set up would be the miltary spec kevlar.

Hello Graeme,

“but I find the miltary spec green type more robust…”

I have now ordered some of the green stuff so it should arrive next week some time. If it ever stops raining down here in Sussex I may do some tests!
If it ever stops raining
I had plans for today involving tuning a new link-dipole made of DX-wire and RC power connectors, but I didn’t figure on needing scuba gear as well. The dipole-tuning has had to wait…

What is this rain you speak of? 3rd consecutive Sunday of SOTA with blue sky/cloudless activations. This cannot last.
