Hello all, I go by the name of Brad which is actually part of my surname (Bradley) I was called this at school as it seemed like all the boys were named Paul which made it difficult to know who was who. I live in South Shropshire but am a Black Country lad having been brought up in a part of Wolverhampton which was originally part of the Black Country. I passed my RAE in 1993 (G7SKU) after a long interest in radio inherited from my late father who was a radio operator in the later part of the war. I went through building basic radios and then in late 1970’s I discovered CB radio from a friend who’s dad was a trucker. This opened my mind to the fact you could participate in the fun.In 2004 I think it was I decided to take it a step further and take the Morse and get the A licence. I did dabble with HF but soon realised it was just not my thing. After CTCSS was introduced on the repeaters it made for me covering long distances almost impossible to use the repeaters and then I changed jobs and I lost interest in radio spending 10 years off air. About 4 years ago I purchased a Boafeng radio for another purpose and fell in love with radio again.
