Enjoyed a lot of VHF contesting in the late 80s and early 90s. Mostly operated as part of GW1VDF/P. My profile pic is me shinning up the 2m portable mast one 2m trophy weekend as we'd forgotten to attach the HF wire antenna as one of our team was going to work some NFD stations. At this moment I am telling them "I told you it would take my weight!"
