Possibly a “STOP, THINK !! is this information relevant ?” and a snippet out of the rules may pause people in there haste to post irrelevant drivel. The worst abuse by far is chasers using the spot system to take pot shots at each other…

If the MT concluded that the majority was wrong then the MT would indeed stick to its guns - nobody has ever pretended that this is a democracy, nor is it even a club, it is an award scheme with a ruling body and participants. We do adopt suggestions but first we have to ask ourselves: do they change the core principles of SOTA, do they have real benefits and do they have unintended consequences, before adopting them. Its like soccer authorities, they are unlikely to do away with the offside rule but they might adopt goal line technology.

I find RRT the perfect tool for this scenario with appropriate filters & alarms set up.
