I don’t get the desire to be 100% unique either, especially using a different callsign for repeats which seems completely artificial to me. Of course some activators don’t live near any SOTA summits and so it’s logical for them to plan trips to different areas and so might end up mostly activating uniques. But to actively avoid them and, even worse, not log an activation just to maintain 100% is odd!
Without repeats I wouldn’t have many points. I enjoy activating the same summits every year, or several times a year. I can activate from different places or walk a different route to get there. It’s important to get out every week and that matters more than doing new summits.
I’d like so many things that I can’t keep up with my dreams… I’m not as strong an activator as you, but I want to try to think big in this context too.
So…
I’d like to do 100 activations… for this personal challenge, the altitude and the points don’t matter, but simply reaching 100 activated SOTA peaks. It’s simple!
I’m preparing a multi-day itinerary to do some activations in a combined sequence. For some, I should be able to activate more than one on the same day.
I’d like to activate at least ten 10-point SOTA peaks. Even though I’ve been caving for a few years, my first love for the mountains is above, not below… and it’s always in my heart.
I want to make room for 2-meter activations. Now that I’ve recovered some old ones, I’d like to do some vintage-style activations… for now, with an IC-245E.
Oh my god, I’ve already written it… I really have to do it!
