OZ/OZ-001, 11/06/26. On the summit, a small parking spot and a “sofa” welcomes you. The surrounding view in the sun and 12 QSO’s on 14 Mhz. / SSB in 1/4 hour makes my day. I‘ve used my faithful Icom 705, my PA500 (limited to 20W.) and my Atas 25 on a tripod.
Yding Skovhoj (Bronze Age time) is one of the nearly 100 archaeological protected areas, with a special mark on every one. Here you can see a stone with the inscription that honours King Frederik VII (1848-1863), who was the founder of the constitutional monarchy in Denmark, who opened the way for the democratic society of today.
Like always, when you are on a summit, you have to look around. A little bit further you have the national monument on Ejer Bavnehoj, that honours the reunification of South Jutland and Denmark after WW1.
I certainly come back with more time, to activate the other 11 summits and explore the very interesting history of this “peaceful” country.
