Sad news, Mount Augustus VK6/CW-001 which is even larger than Uluru has claimed 3 lives this week due to some poor decision making and people thinking they can do things in high temps 36C plus. With Covid-19 this year, even larger than usual numbers have headed north to escape the Perth winter weather. Most are elderly or Grey Nomads as they are called here. Travelling around in their caravans with little basic experience of extreme temps and their inability to cope in such situations.

Very sad news…
With global warming, temperatures are often very high and hiking under such conditions becomes a very serious risk.
We all must have this in mind and try to make others aware.
Stay safe out there in the mountains.

Sad news. Those temperatures are not unusual for that part of the world and it’s not a walk in the park.

Shocked at how young one of the victims was.

I wonder what info they had other than the ID sign.
