With a bit of a delay here my video report from the activation of Varden LA/TN-471 near Tromso in Norway.
In mid December obiously no sunrise beyond the polar circle so interesting conditions for a hike. But the wx was really nice and lot’s of fresh snow.
Main mission for Norway was to snorkel with Orca whales. That did not work out due to the weather conditions but a best-of winter outdoor action is added as bonus features in the video.
Thanks for the nice feedback.
I would have needed that at the later part of the vacation.
While on board of the Trio II I wanted to first activate this summit LA/TN-451 but I could not get hold of any snowshoes in that town for rent. So a group of strong huskys would have been great. But no chance with that amount of snow even for only 200 vertical meters of elevation gain. So someone else has a chance to get it (should be easy in summer as it is even in the local hiking guidebook found at the tourist info…)
