I have decided to try something different in the world of amateur radio so I’m going for SOTA. I have decided to start on 2m. I have got my Baofeng UV-5RV dual bander ready together with SOTA 2 meter Ariel. I have no idea which frequency on 2m to use. Could anyone help? Keep watching this space and I shall let you know in advanced when I will be hitting the summits.

Hi, Ceri and welcome to the addictive world of SOTA. If you post an alert here in advance of your activation it doesn’t much matter what frequency you choose although calling on S20 - 145.500 first is probably a good idea as your choice of working frequency is likely to be dictated by band activity. Just ask whoever you work to spot you on SOTAWatch on your chosen clear frequency.
