VE6/AS-002 Mt. Rundle is the prominent wedge-shaped peak immediately south of the town of Banff
Summit is 2,949 m (9,675 ft.), Ascent 1,577 m (5,175 ft.) 11 km round-trip.
Glorious weather today this steep strenuous hike has some notoriety for being a bit of a slog but really its only the last 200m of ascent through steep loose scree. The upside is the descent is an easy glissade as far as the “Dragon’s Back”, a narrow exposed steep rib.
After a quick 7 QSOs on 20m (Thanks W0MNA for the spot) I changed to 17m to try and reach N4EX this turned out successful for my first QSOs on 17m. My vertical is set for 1/4 wave on 20m but the KX3 ATU managed to pull in an acceptable SWR for a further 3 QSOs.
Great day thanks everybody;
