Today's activation of F/CR-023

First sunny morning for ages when I reached the summit I could hardly stand up it was blowing a force 8 gale!
Still managed to find a sheltered spot behind a gorse bush!
After two attempts I managed to get the Dipole up in the air. The band was well and truly open with great reports and little QSB
Then 3 QSO’s in… The SOTA pole decided to give up its battle with the wind and collapsed. With the dipole a lofty 2m high and wire on the ground I still managed a two way QSO with 57’s given.

Clearly it was a good take off from the summit. Although at times I thought that was exactly what I was about to do

The station manager decided that the second activation would not go ahead!

Moving NW tomorrow, will see what summits are close by…
