Thanks to everyone for trying to help on Snowbird today. It was a tough activation, and there was a lot of noise on the summit. I moved the antenna and the interference diminished slightly. I think the power lines running to the FAA equipment were killing my reception.
So all this, and the bugs, lots and lots and lots of bugs. I got a few contacts, enough to activate anyway.
This was going to be just a drive up activation, but the gravel road was so steep I had to hike up the last 1.50 miles. It was the gravel road from hell. I will complete a full write up in the next few days. Just too darn tired tonight. Thanks again to all the chasers today on Max Patch and Snowbird, “AKA the summit from hell.”
