Hi all,
just returned home from Tannheim Valley after a very nice tour onto Brentenjoch. Many thanks to all chasers! This time I was running about 40 wtts from an IC706 into my regular 20m inverted-L wire. The wire was fixed at the 10m pole using some sticky tape as usual. Unfortunately the wind was blowing extraordinarily strong this time and - what a great deal of annoyance - the antenna came down just in the moment Jeff, G4ELZ, called in. I completed the qso with the wire almost entirely on the ground, which seemed to work quite well despite the fact the SWR had turned quite bad. I needed a short break to have the problem fixed, which took round about 10 minutes.
Thank you for your patience!
