Thanks GW4BML

Thanks Ben for the RSGB presentation you did last night, just happened to be scrolling through twitter and spotted that RSGB had a YT channel and that you were doing a presentation!
I made a brew and got comfy. Informative - thanks

Three hobbies/interests I share as well, Landies, Radio and Rallying!

For those that missed the RSGB live event RSGB Tonight@8 - Radio and Rucksack by Ben Lloyd, GW4BML - YouTube

That was a good one Ben. Very well done!

Another very positive message for working portable, especially SOTA.

Who would have thought there was a third one among us John? :joy:

Really enjoyed the talk last night. A great advert for SOTA and /P working. Great to see Thomas, K4SWL, contributing to the Q&A section, too. Well done Ben.

Thank you very much @M0VAZ John - I have just seen this post now  it’s really hard to write a presentation that will keep watchers amused for an hour, so I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Yes, I have a couple of rally cars and a handful of Landrover’s which all run and drive!!! But some are not on the road yet  I am working on a SOTA beast, image below:

This should be on the road in the next couple of months. And here’s one of my stage cars (Nissan Sunny GTi) which is currently set up for forestry:

That green mountain in the background is ‘Plynlimon’ GW/MW-001, the rally was in Ceredigion called ‘Rali Bae’. I do like my Peugeot 205’s as well, my tarmac / road rally car is the 205 Mi16, I cant find any pictures of it on my laptop though.

It looks like a lot of us amateurs share some of the same hobbies which is great - I’m pretty sure we’d have some stories to talk about if we all met up!

Thank you very much Matthew - I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks John

Thanks Fraser - fingers crossed it’ll attract a few more amateurs into the SOTA scheme.

Thanks Mike - it was weird talking to my PC screen though for over an hour

Thanks David - I’m not sure I’ll hit my MG on CW this year, but I certainly want to do more CW activations through-out 2023 and the future!

The Nicky Grist stages take place around the area I live in, so you get to sneak into the forests and watch it! I’ve never done it myself, but may have a go one day  I think it’s taking place early July this year. Hope your keeping well Pom :+1:

Yup, I enjoyed the presentation - thanks
Good pics there Ben. I was out on the Rali Bae last year doing recovery.
I am sure we would have some stories if we met up - maybe one day.

And yes, great job Ben, both on organising to be a “Tonight at 8” presenter on portable radio, and for the fine job you did of it. Mind you, you’re a seasoned TV celebrity these days - the “go-to guy” for anything about amateur radio on the small screen!

Thanks Tom - it was great given the opportunity to promote portable operating including SOTA.
