A BIG thanks to Damien (M0BKV) today up on Kirchenkogel (3113m, OE/TI-760) today. I did the second activation of the peak.

It was a bitterly cold wind on the restricted top despite some sunshine, and a hard flog up there as fresh snow had covered everything and there was no established track to follow. On the way up the multiple towers for avalanche explosives on a wire were somewhat intimidating, but we got there. Then I was struggling to get the qualifying contacts and Damien’s Spot clinched the activation.

We are considering a rest day tomorrow!
