Summit activation 1 year rule

Can one activate for credit a summit on the anniversary of the last time activated? Or do you have to wait till the day after the one year anniversary?

Thanks John N0EVH

In reply to N0EVH:

Calendar year John. January 1st, all becomes available.

In reply to VA2SG:

January 1st UTC

So that means people in a convenient timezone can get points at the end of one year and again at the beginning of the next on the same trip!

At least, that’s my interpretation, and I could take advantage of it here (if I wasn’t an actual shack sloth).

In reply to HL5ZBA:

Yep UTC, thats correct.

In reply to N0EVH:

If you time your activation right then you can claim the points for an
activation twice, once just before midnight UTC on the 31st Dec and once
just after midnight on the 1st Jan.

Obviously you’d need to get 4 QSO’s either side of midnight.

Happy new year to all.

Hi John -

Yes, please do this - we’re planning on activating around 2330 31-Dec and again about 0002 on 1-Jan. Work us Summit-to-Summit for those points too!

VK1DA will be activating VK1/AC-002, on 31 Dec/1 Jan. Will have 20m CW and SSB to a vertical or a dipole. If good conditions on higher bands will use them too.

Have not worked a NA activator yet even from home. S2S is the goal!
