It may be worth taking a 2m amplifier and / or hf as a back up. I activated on 9th and 12th May 2016 and only managed 3 contacts each time on 145-fm with a handheld and dipole. Good luck when you do go!

Hi Nick,
Many thanks for the advice. I always run a small Microwave Modules 25W linear. A 2.2AH LIPO with a 2.5AH NiMH in series will give me a lightweight power pack for the amp sufficient for a few QSOs, another 2.2AH LIPO for the 817 and a simple lightweight monoband HF dipole as back up. I’m currently working on a lightweight 2m beam which will be supported on my walking poles… that’s more for tackling summits like Stuc a’Chroin GM/SS–010.
Overall it seems like a plan.
