I notice that a number of people self spot by SMS, but I can find no information on how to do this. I have been on a number of summits where I have phone but not internet access.
Can anyone tell me how you make a spot by SMS

Hi Malcolm, as Geoff says, you will need to let Andy know so that he can add your mobile number to the list of allowed access phones.
If you have an Android smart phone, the Rucksack radio Tool (Free but not on Google Play) app will allow you to spot either via Internet or SMS. The format of the SMS message is not complex but the RRT app does make it easier than having to remember the format required.

Hi,
I have a similar but worse problem, probably no vodafone network at all according to the coverage map.
When abroad in remote areas I have previously used RMS Express to send and receive small emails via 40M and 20M.
Is there an email adress that I could send alets to the day before I climb from my valley campsite or is it just SMS and internet?
